Historic City News learned that a 37-year-old Elkton man, free on $25,000 bond on charges of sexual battery filed June 9th, fled the county after another sexual battery charge was added in July.
The flight from justice for Michael Owen Hutchison, who resides at 1861 CR-13 in St Augustine, ended Thursday when law enforcement officers captured him in Ohio.
After Hutchison was released in June, a second male adult victim came forward in July to report that, while he was passed out, Hutchison committed sexual battery on him.
An arrest warrant was obtained a week later however Hutchison fled the county and could not be located. The second warrant requires Hutchison to post a $250,000 bond.
The second charge violated the bond conditions on the original bond resulting in revocation of that bond. Hutchison is not being allowed to post bond on those charges at this time.
The US Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force was brought in to locate Hutchison. With assistance from the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, Hutchison was located and taken into custody without incident.
