Beginning today and continuing through the November 3rd Special Referendum Election, Historic City News readers will notice the red ballot drop off boxes throughout St Johns County for use by absentee voters, when they are ready to return their ballots.
A referendum has no party affiliation; therefore, all registered voters in St Johns County, Republican, Democrat, or Independent, are welcome to cast their ballot on Tuesday, November 3rd, or earlier.
“You will find a 24-hour ballot drop box in front of the Elections Office starting today,” Supervisor of Elections Vicky Oakes told Historic City News reporters.
Other locations include all public libraries, St. Augustine Beach City Hall, plus the Ponte Vedra and Julington Creek Tax Collectors Offices. They will be available at all locations during their regular business hours beginning Tuesday, October 6th thru 5:00 p.m. on November 3rd (Election Day).
Here’s the complete listing of locations and times they are available:
You may also turn in your completed ballot during early voting (10/24 through 10/31) at all early voting locations; 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM. Absentee ballots must be returned to the Elections Office no later than 7:00 PM on Election Day in order to be counted.
It’s still not too late to request an absentee ballot for the upcoming Special Referendum Election. Simply call 904-823-2238.
