Historic City News crime reporters were informed today that images of the man who took a boxed Christmas tree from S.A.F.E. Pet Rescue’s thrift store, located at 1250 Old A1A South, were captured on surveillance video outside the building.
Investigators say the artificial holiday tree, still in the box, was a donation to the store. No value on the merchandise was reported.
On Wednesday, November 25th, the suspect is observed driving a dark colored small pick-up truck into the parking lot at 6:19 a.m. A short time later he is seen walking across the front of the building and then observed carrying the large boxed Christmas tree back to his vehicle. He drives off northbound on A1A.
The suspect is described as a black male in his mid 30’s-mid 40’s, 6’2” with a large build.
Anyone with any information concerning the identity of this individual is asked to contact Deputy Neil Bronner at the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office at (904) 824-8304. You can remain anonymous and possibly be eligible for a cash reward by calling Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida at 1 (888) 277-TIPS.
