Work on E2-D Advanced Hawkeye headed for St Augustine

Northrop Grumman Systems Corp. has announced to Historic City News in St Augustine that about $28.6 million in revenue is headed to the local employer in support of the production and delivery of one E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft.

The Military Aircraft Systems sector of Northrop Grumman will perform engineering efforts. St Augustine’s share represents about 10% of the total aircraft contract modification; an award reported to top $286 million.

The twin turboprop, used for tactical airborne early warning, is for the government of Japan, under the Foreign Military Sales program.

According to the press release from Grumman, the remainder of the work will be performed in Melbourne, with a smaller percentage to be performed in Herndon, Virginia and other United States locations.

Work is expected to be completed in September 2019.
