This morning, Northeast Florida Regional Airport Executive Director, Edward R. Wuellner, announced the return of Frontier Airlines in the St Augustine market to local Historic City News reporters. The return after the seasonal break was expected; however, today’s announcement came with the bonus of non-stop jet service to Chicago O’Hare Airport as well as flights into Philadelphia International Airport beginning mid-April.
The new service opens two major markets, both for St Augustine area business travelers as well as early spring vacation travelers who are still looking to escape cold Philadelphia and Chicago weather.
“Travelers between big cities have enjoyed low fares while many markets have remained overpriced and underserved,” said Frontier Airlines President Barry Biffle. “Frontier’s low fares in St. Augustine will benefit thousands of new fliers who are forced to drive because they haven’t found affordable air travel options – or they simply stay at home.”
Frontier’s “Low fares done right” service to Chicago will begin on April 14, 2016 while service to Philadelphia will begin on April 15, 2016. Introductory fares in these new markets will be as low as $69, available only at FlyFrontier.com. Other restrictions, terms and conditions apply. Visit FlyFrontier.com for details.
Flights between Northeast Florida Regional Airport and Chicago will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays while flights to Philadelphia will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Resumption of Seasonal Service:
Frontier is putting its full summer schedule on sale today for travel through August 15th. Frontier Airlines adds 42 new routes throughout the United States with today’s announcement, including St Augustine.
