A 1997 Honors Graduate from Vincennes University and Graduate with Honors in May of 2003 from Columbia University earning a Bachelor’s of Science, Criminal Justice. Chief Loran K. Lueders is a 1998 Dean’s Scholar Graduate of the 100th Session of the prestigious University of Louisville’s Southern Police Institute.
He began his law enforcement career with the St. Augustine Police Department in November of 1981 and served as a patrol officer and detective until 1991 when he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. While holding the rank of Sergeant, he was assigned Patrol Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, Training Sergeant and the Internal Affairs Sergeant. In 1997 Chief Lueders was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant where he served as the Operations Commander and the Administrative Services Commander until May of 2000 when he was promoted to the rank of Assistant Chief of Police.
On November 8, 2004, Lueders was promoted to his current rank of Chief of Police. Chief Lueders will retire with full honors from the St Augustine Police Department at the end of November, 2016.
