Detectives with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit reported to Historic City News this morning that they have identified and arrested a suspect in connection with now three similar robberies at the same Hastings business this month.
The suspect, identified as Jason Ken Maynard, 38, 214 Fox St., was booked into the County Jail and will be charged with at least two counts of robbery.
- Deputies responded to the first robbery at the Circle K convenience store, 8796 E. Church St., Hastings, on Sunday, September 4th, shortly after 2:00 a.m.
- A similar robbery was reported at the same store this past Tuesday evening at 10:40 p.m.
- Last night, shortly after 9:30 p.m., a third robbery was reported at the same store. The suspect in the most recent robbery matched the description of the same suspect in the previous two robberies.
Detectives obtained information from multiple tipsters that identified Maynard as a possible suspect. A search warrant was obtained. That warrant was executed early this morning and detectives obtained evidence linking Maynard to the two Circle K robberies earlier this week.
Additional charges are pending further investigation.
