St Augustine artist and Flagler College alumnus Andrew Scott Wilson informed Historic City News that he will be showing select paintings during a pop-up art show on Friday, September 30, 2016 at YIELD Design headquarters on 25 Palmer Street from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
This show marks the first time Wilson’s works will be on display since making a shift from teaching middle school art in St. Johns County, to pouring his entire self into creating his own art. It also marks the first time his works will be paired with words by his wife Sarah.
“My hope with this show is to have people interact with art and its meaning in a way that may not always occur,” said Wilson. “It’s not my goal to turn heads with beautiful work, but rather have the meaning of a work resonate with an individual.”
Titled Just Being Honest: a dialogue on life and imperfection, the show will explore the beauty and struggles of being an imperfect human, being vulnerable, and being alive in this world.
Ultimately this evening offers a chance for Andrew and Sarah to speak to the community on matters close to their hearts through a combination of painted works accompanied by written stories.
