Historic City News readers who are members of the county’s arts, culture and heritage organizations, especially physical facilities and galleries damaged by Hurricane Matthew, are invited to attend a Hurricane Recovery Meeting on Wednesday, October 12th from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Executive Director Andrew Witt will discuss how the St. Johns Cultural Council can assist in recovery efforts, including a discussion of FEMA resources that may be available.
“Presently the Cultural Council office is closed due to interruptions in telephone service and internet access; but, we are still able to communicate remotely through email,” Witt told Historic City News. “We will return to normal business hours as soon as possible.”
This meeting replaces the assessment sharing session, which will be rescheduled.
Meeting Location:
St. Johns Volunteer Center
The St. Augustine Record Building
1 News Place
St. Augustine 32086
(at the corner of SR 312 & SR 207)
In addition, the St Johns County Economic Development Department has requested that the Small Business Development Center deploy their “Mobile Assessment Center” to St. Johns County to assist local businesses in recovery.
Business owners who have experienced damages as a result of Hurricane Matthew are encouraged to fill out the Business Damage Assessment Survey at http://flvbeoc.org.
The survey is utilized to determine the needs of businesses impacted by the hurricane to activate federal financial assistance and the Emergency Bridge Program.
Members of the business community are welcome to contact the County Economic Development Department at 904.209.0552.
