City of St Augustine: Sewer overflow notice

In accordance with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Public Notice of Pollution Rule (62ER16-1), the City of St. Augustine is providing notice of a raw sewage spill that occurred today, October 12, 2016, at the intersection of Old Quarry Road and Coquina Avenue in St. Augustine.

The sanitary sewer system overflow was contained by 1:00 p.m.

The overflow discharged to surface water at Quarry Creek, where bacteriological samples have been collected. The spill site is being cleaned and sanitized for bacteria and pathogen elimination.
