Parenting expert John Rosemond to speak in St Augustine

St. John’s Academy in St. Augustine brings to the community nationally known author, syndicated columnist, radio talk show host and family psychologist John Rosemond on October 24 and 25, 2016.

Rosemond is known for his sound advice and relaxed style and is one of America’s busiest and most popular public speakers. He will present a two-day parenting workshop at Family Worship Center, located at 2040 SR-207, in St. Augustine.

• On Monday, October 24 from 7:00-8:30 p.m., he will present “Parenting with Love and Leadership.”

“Parenting with Love and Leadership” is a humorous yet thought-provoking workshop where family psychologist Rosemond describes the contemporary parenting challenge in clear, compelling terms and puts forth practical, tested solutions using what children need adults to provide to them: Love and Leadership. Using compelling, real-life anecdotes, John teaches parents how to motivate maximum child compliance, no matter the setting, through the proper use of what he calls “leadership speech.” And when consequences are necessary, John teaches creative approaches that get the job done!

• On Tuesday, October 25 from 9:00-10:30 a.m., he will present “You’re More Than Just a Mom.”

In “You’re More Than Just a Mom,” Rosemond’s answer to the question of why today’s moms feel high levels of stress and frustration – in a phrase, the pressure of membership in what he calls The Good Mommy Club – is illuminating, liberating, and often humorous.

“As a classical Christian school we partner with parents to train virtuous scholars. John Rosemond’s common sense approach, using tried and true methods, resonates with our philosophy. So, it was a natural fit to invite him to share the tools in his toolbox to help our parents navigate the sometimes turbulent waters of parenting.”

Rosemond has authored 18 books on parenting and family life, including his recently released “Grandma Was Right After All!” He has been writing a nationally syndicated parenting column for over 35 years that appears in over 200 newspapers nationwide.

His radio program, “Because I Said So!” can be heard on American Family Radio networks on Saturdays at 6:00 p.m. EST. Rosemond’s books include: “Because I Said So!”, “A Family of Value,” and the “Six Point Plan for Raising Happy, Healthy Children.” Rosemond’s common-sense advice has gained much credibility with today’s parents who are tired of techniques and methods that don’t work.
