Historic City News readers can learn about the impact members of the Friends of the Guana-Tolomato-Matanzas Research Reserve have on the Reserve’s management plan and goals for the future during the upcoming Friends Annual Membership Meeting.
The volunteer support organization will hold their meeting for members and community stakeholders in the Research Reserve’s Environmental Education Center on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 from 7:30-9:00 a.m.
Seating is limited at the Education Center, 505 Guana River Road, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082, and reservations should be made through Ellen Leroy-Reed by calling 904-823-4526.
Tuesday morning’s program will include keynote speaker Madison Toonder, citizen scientist and student ambassador, who will discuss her experiences working with the Reserve’s research team and how their mentoring has cultivated her passion for marine science and helped forge her future career path.
Tickets are free for Friends members and $20 for nonmembers (limited availability). Breakfast will be served.
