Flagler Boulevard water main being upgraded

St. Augustine Public Information Coordinator Cathy DuPont informed local Historic City News reporters today that they will be installing a new 8-inch water main on Flagler Boulevard, from the east side of the Bridge of Lions to Comares Avenue.

The work is being done by Hastings contractor Kent Bros., Inc., and will be beginning Monday, October 11th.

This project is to replace the old 6-inch line with a new 8-inch PVC water main, for better water quality and to provide fire hydrant flow capacity. This project should be complete within three (3) months.

There will be a maintenance traffic plan to direct traffic flow during construction; therefore minimal street closures in the area are anticipated.
