ACT AND SAT PREP CLASSES FOR FOL MEMBERS

MARITIME HISTORY OF ST. AUGUSTINE
Anastasia Island Branch Library – Saturday, November 8, 2 PM
Are you fascinated by St. Augustine history? Do you want to learn more about your local lighthouse and the maritime story of America’s Oldest Port? Join us as we learn the dynamic story of our nation’s oldest port with an engaging presentation by Brendan Burke, Archaeologist/Logistics Coordinator of the Lighthouse Archaeological Program. In honor of the American Library Association’s National Gaming Day, children, teens, and families are invited to drop by to enjoy gaming systems and traditional family favorite board games.

The Friends of the Library & the Ancient City Chapter of the Florida Writers Association welcomes Sandra McDonald, a powerful and imaginative speaker, to present on the topic of Implied Author/Implied Reader.

NATIONAL GAMERS’ DAY
Bartram Trail Branch Library – Saturday, November 15, 1 PM – 2:30 PM (Tweens – grades 3-5) and 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM (Teens – grades 6-12)
Bring your friends and come out for a Saturday afternoon of X-Box 360, Guitar Hero, Dance Dance Revolution, and Rock Band. We also have a new gaming system to add to the fun!

TEEN ANIME MARATHON
Main Branch Library – Saturday, November 15, 1:45 PM
Teens are invited to celebrate National Gaming Day with an anime marathon featuring .hack//sign. This anime invites you to login to “The World”, which is being played by millions of people around the world. Players can go online and trade items, form parties, and go on quests. But none of that concerns Tsukasa, trapped within “The World”, a virtual prisoner. His journey from the digital world to the real world has just begun. Refreshments provided by the Friends of the Library.

MIDDLE SCHOOLERS’ GAMING AFTERNOON
Anastasia Island Branch Library – Saturday, November 15, 2 PM
Teens in Middle School (ages 11-14 ONLY) are invited to join us for popular video games to celebrate National Gamers’ Day! Snacks will be generously provided by the Anastasia Island Friends of the Library.

BARNES AND NOBLE BOOK FAIR
Southeast Branch Library – Bring a Book Fair voucher to Barnes and Noble during the week of November 22-29, and a percentage of your purchase will be donated to the Southeast Friends of the Library. Vouchers may be obtained at the Circulation Desk of the Southeast Branch Library.

OPEN MIC & SPOKEN WORD WORKSHOP FOR TEENS
