Rick Scott elected US Senator from Florida

Tonight, Historic City News can report that the people of Florida have sent Bill Nelson into retirement — after 46 years of being nothing but an empty suit in Washington, D.C.

Scott often visited St Johns County during his two terms in Florida’s Governor’s Mansion.  He lent support to the TPC in Ponte Vedra Beach, and attended a number of functions in support of tourism development as well as clean businesses that are driving unemployment numbers to record lows.

“The RPOF congratulates Senator-elect Rick Scott for a hard-fought victory, and thanks him for his selfless and successful tenure as Florida Governor,” Republican Party of Florida Chairman Blaise Ingoglia told Historic City News reporters in St Johns County.

The City of St Augustine was strapped to the aging astronaut during the 450th Commemoration as he sat on the useless, unfunded federal Commemoration Committee. His representation and contribution totaled an appearance at two local meetings and nothing else.

Scott has spent a good bit of time with and enjoyed the support of President Donald Trump; leading some politicos to contemplate the possibility that Scott might receive a presidential appointment.

It wasn’t long before it became clear that Scott intended to claim Nelson’s Senate seat, instead.

Party officials told reporters that they look forward to having two Republican Senators that get things done.

Chairman Ingoglia said, “Governor Scott has been a champion for the State of Florida and there is no doubt we can expect the same tenacity from him in the Senate.”
