A 24 year-old man who police have been searching for since a warrant for his arrest was announced to Historic City News on November 22nd, was taken into custody yesterday; bringing to six the total number of arrests by detectives with the Special Victims’ Unit as part of “Operation: Reveal”.
Mark Robert Biller was booked at the St. Johns County Detention Facility just after 2:00 p.m. yesterday, where he is being held in lieu of $255,000 bond.
By utilizing undercover Internet investigative techniques, detectives were able to compile sufficient information to obtain search warrants for the computers of Biller and five other persons — Michael James Young, 25, 8485 Palmo Fish Camp Rd.; Zachary Anthony Chiodo, 19, 241 Seamist Ct, Ponte Vedra Beach; Jon Raymond London, 38, 223 Yarbrough Rd.; James Darrin Pleasant, 30, 2 Moultrie Creek Cr.; and John Alan Hoyt, 20, 1130 Tedder La.
Detectives identified and interviewed the six suspects for their involvement in the downloading or distribution of child pornographic images. All six admitted to some involvement in downloading the child pornography.
Over the past couple of months, those search warrants were served, the computers were seized and forensically examined. Analysts were able to recover and identify pornographic images from the suspect’s computers of children; aged 13 years-old to infant.
The five other men were arrested during a warrant sweep November 22nd.
At the time warrants were obtained for Biller’s arrest, his whereabouts were unknown. Sheriff’s Office records now indicate that Biller’s residence address is 623 South Palmetto Avenue in Daytona Beach. Biller’s arrest yesterday concludes the outstanding warrants obtained in this operation, to date.
Biller is charged with possession of obscene material, a third degree felony, and charged with obscene communication, also a third degree felony.
St. Johns County Sheriff, David Shoar said in a press conference that this is only the beginning of arresting individuals involved in “this disgusting child porn business,” in St. Johns County. He added, “Our message today is if you have anything to do with child pornography, either viewing, producing, or transmitting, sooner or later we will arrest you.”
Sheriff Shoar concluded, “No victims are as vulnerable as our children and grandchildren and your
Sheriff’s Office will pursue people that victimize our children — vigorously.”
