Darby L. Stubberfield, Director of Development for Boys and Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida, informed local Historic City News reporters that the St. Augustine Lions Club recently donated $5,000 to The PLAYERS Championship Boys and Girls Club of St. Augustine.
“As a Lion and Boys and Girls Club Unit Board member, it was my pleasure to bring these two organizations together,” said Chris Draughon, Financial Advisor with Edward Jones. “The St. Augustine Lions have a history of helping children, and I appreciate their support.”
The Lions have also offered eye and health screenings and other resources for Boys and Girls Club members.
“The Saint Augustine Lions Club is pleased to support The PLAYERS Championship Boys and Girls Club in their mission toward serving the children in our community,” said Dominic Mercurio of the St. Augustine Lions. “One of our missions as Lions is to help those with vision problems receive the help they need. To that end, the Saint Augustine Lions are available to help those children and families of limited means receive eye care and treatment. We would like for this to be known by all of the children and their families served by the Club.”
