Living History donates in memory of Frank Suddeth

Historic City News has learned that St. Augustine’s Florida Living History, Inc. has donated $2,500 to The Salvation Army St. Augustine Corps in memory of Mr. William Frank Suddeth, Jr., who passed away this year.

The donation in Frank’s memory will be used for the Salvation Army’s annual Angel Tree Children’s Program that supplies toys and clothing to the disadvantaged children of St. Augustine and St. Johns County at Christmas.

More specifically, Florida Living History has requested that the funds be designated for the “Forgotten Angels” to help insure that none of the deprived children of our community will have to go without this holiday season.

Frank Suddeth was a life-long St. Augustine resident, historian, fellow re-enactor, and friend. For many years, he served as a teacher in the St. Johns County public school system and as an employee and volunteer at The Castillo de San Marcos National Monument.

Frank’s love of his native city’s and state’s history was only matched by his love of children. Nothing delighted Frank more than the joy of seeing the enthralled faces of young ones as he related one of his many tales of his beloved state.

“It is the wish of Florida Living History, Inc., that these funds be dedicated to one of the causes to which Frank devoted his life – the children of St. Augustine and St. Johns County,” a spokesperson for Florida Living History said.
