Heather Smith, spokesperson with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement in Tallahassee, reported to Historic City News that this afternoon at 3:00 p.m., the agency will announce the results of a major prescription drug trafficking investigation in our area.
With assistance from the ten county North Florida High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area taskforce that includes St. Johns County, the Sheriff’s Office in Jacksonville and Flagler County as well as the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office will host simultaneous press conferences to reveal information identifying persons arrested in connection with this drug trafficking investigation.
The Jacksonville office of the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area taskforce provides a strategic overview of the illicit drug situation in north Florida to participating local, state and federal law enforcement agencies; highlighting significant trends and law enforcement concerns related to the trafficking and abuse of illicit drugs.
The press conference details will be published by Historic City News after the conclusion of the conferences being held at 3:00 p.m. this afternoon in Jacksonville, Bunnell and Gainesville.
