Sheriff David B. Shoar informed local Historic City News community reporters that the members of the Ponte Vedra Municipal Service District recently purchased an Automated External Defibrillator to be placed in the Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit assigned to the MSD.
“This brings life-saving measures immediately to a citizen from the first responding deputy in case of an emergency,” Shoar told Historic City News. “Properly used, the Automated External Defibrillator can sustain life-saving efforts until paramedics arrive.”
The Municipal Service District contracts with the Sheriff’s Office; and pays to supplement regular patrol and public safety services within the district.
Shoar said that his office has an excellent relationship with the Ponte Vedra Beach community and that this generous contribution demonstrates the confidence and commitment the community has in the St. Johns County law enforcement officers.
