The new living history group, Los Presidiales de San Agustín reported to Historic City News that they will be holding their first muster of the New Year on Saturday, January 8th from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Ponce de Leon’s Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park.
Members of Los Presidiales, who are dedicated to fostering an understanding of our state’s colonial history through public programs, events, demonstrations, and portrayals of St. Augustine’s 18th-century soldiers and citizens, gather for historically accurate, Spanish musket and cannon drills and to present period demonstrations and interpretations.
Los Presidiales has been formed to offer a research-based presentation of the civilian, soldier, sailor, white, black, Native American, male and female, enslaved and free residents of the presidio of San Agustín de la Florida.
This Event is sponsored by Los Presidiales de San Agustín with the assistance of Ponce de León’s Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park.
