The St. Johns County Recreation and Parks Department has announced the following youth activities to Historic City News this morning.
MONKEY AROUND FITNESS is designed for children regardless of athleticism or special needs. It promotes the idea of maintaining a healthy lifestyle through activities that are fun and which stimulate a child’s movement through play. Two exciting classes are offered this spring: Half Pints Athletic Development Class for children ages 3 and 4 at Veterans Park every Wednesday starting February 4th from 11:30 am to 12:15 pm. Program fee is $60 for the 6-week session. Intro to Sports Program is an after-school activity every Wednesday beginning February 4th from 3:00 to 4:00 pm at Veterans Park. Program is for kindergarteners ages 5 to 7, with a program fee of $72 for a 6-week session.
ABRAKADOODLE is a program that introduces your child to new artistic techniques that will ignite their imagination and provide opportunities for them to explore different forms of media. New Mommy & Me Art Classes for artists 2 to 4 years of age beginning on February 4th from 11:00 to 11:45 am at Veterans Park and Ketterlinus Gym. The program fee is $100 for 8 weeks. Twoosy Doodlers is for young artists ages 2 to 4, Saturday mornings, 9:15 to 10:00 am at the PLAYERS Community Senior Center. Doodlers is for artists ages 6 to 12 on Thursday afternoons from 4:00 to 4:50 pm at the PLAYERS Community Senior Center.
2nd ANNUAL FATHER/DAUGHTER DANCE will be held at Ketterlinus Gym on February 6th from 7 to 9 pm. Fathers, bring your elementary-aged daughters to this fun and exciting night where you can celebrate your little girl. Tickets are $20 per couple and include light refreshments, music, games, and pictures. You may reserve your tickets starting February 2nd by contacting the Youth Program Coordinator at (904) 209-0377.
MIDDLE SCHOOL SWEETHEART DANCE will be held at Ketterlinus Gym on February 21st from 7:30 to 9:30 pm. Tickets will be on sale beginning February 9th at Ketterlinus Gym. Tickets cost $5 per couple and will enter you into a drawing for the chance to win an iPod shuffle.
TEENS VALENTINE BALL will be on February 14th at 6:00 pm at the W.E. Harris Community Center located in Hastings.
