Saint Augustine Historical Society Research Library Chief Librarian Jess May reported to Historic City News that the Historical Society will be celebrating Black History Month with an exhibition of Richard Twine’s photographs.
The exhibit debuts for First Friday Art Walk and will be open February 7th -21st Wednesday – Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Black History Month exhibit is on the first floor in the Elizabeth Kirby-Smith Room located at 12 Avilles Street.
The display features religious, social, business, and recreational activities of Lincolnville residents in the early to mid 20th century.
Exhibits will contintue to debut each month on First Friday Art Walk. March will display the Library’s Oversized Photograph collection from the 19th and 20th centuries.
