Brush fire off CR-208 under control
Jeremy Robshaw, Public Information Officer with St. Johns County Fire Rescue, informed Historic City News local reporters that an estimated 7-10 acre fire burning off of CR-208, is currently contained and under control.
“At about 1:15 p.m. today, the fire was reported as a downed power line,” Robshaw said. “It appears the live wire sparked.”
Division of Forestry was on scene to contain the fire. They deployed several suppression apparatus and two tractors.
In fighting the blaze, St. Johns County Fire Rescue responded with multiple Engines, Tankers and Brush trucks.
There is some good news, according to Robshaw, that no structures were damaged and no injuries have been reported.
