Kathy Weed, Immediate Past President and Volunteer Coordinator of The Children’s Museum of St. Johns has reported to Historic City News that her organization is in need of volunteers for a few of their upcoming events.
In conjunction with the Annual St. Augustine Lighthouse Festival on Saturday, March 21st between 11:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M., The Children’s Museum of St. Johns will once again be presenting The Great Bubble Blowout! This exhibit is fun for all ages!
The Children’s Museum of St. Johns needs to have a total of 26 volunteers to help throughout the day beginning at 9:00 AM and ending at 7:00 PM. Two and three hour shifts are available, or if you would like to work a longer shift, please let them know!
MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR THESE UPCOMING EVENTS!
Just Tri- IT!. . . a kid’s triathlon is slated for May 30, 2009. This successful event shows children that they can accomplish something great! They swim, bike and run a course that is suited for children ages 6-12 years of age. Every participant receives a medal just for trying it! The Children’s Museum of St. Johns also presents a Healthy Kid’s Exhibit that teaches the importance of balancing exercise and good food choices in order to stay fit and healthy!
Once everything has been confirmed, The Children’s Museum of St. Johns will be in need of many volunteers.
The Florida Heritage Book Festival will be held at Flagler College September 12-13. The Children’s Museum of St. Johns will be presenting one of the children’s activities on the second day of the event. As we get closer to this event, more information will be provided. The Children’s Museum of St. Johns will be needing volunteers for this event as well.
If you are interested in volunteering at one or more of these events, please let them know and they will be in touch with you.
The Children’s Museum of St. Johns is looking forward to seeing you all again at their upcoming events!
Weed said, “Thank you all again, without our volunteers The Children’s Museum of St. Johns could not do all of the wonderful things we have planned for our community. All of you make The Children’s Museum of St. Johns possible!”
