Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Communications Director, Justin Harclerode, reported to Historic City News that U.S. Rep. John L. Mica, will address the Florida Statewide Passenger Rail Commission in Jacksonville tomorrow morning.
Mica, who is the new Chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, will meet for the first time with the Florida high-speed and passenger rail panel to discuss the status and future plans for both the Florida rail project and the national passenger rail program.
This meeting follows a discussion of pending state infrastructure projects with Florida Governor Rick Scott in Tallahassee late this afternoon.
The Rail Commission meeting will take place beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at the Florida Department of Transportation District 2 Urban Office located at 2198 Edison Avenue in Jacksonville.
