City Finalizes Dates for Budget Workshop and Hearings
In an announcement received by Historic City News this morning, The City of St. Augustine has announced the dates for its workshops and hearings regarding the 2008-2009 city budget.
The Commission’s budget workshop will be held on Tuesday, August 19 at 9:00am and, if necessary, continued on Friday, August 22. The workshop will be held in the Financial Services Center located at 50 Bridge Street.
The budget hearings will be held on Thursday, September 4 and Thursday, September 18 at 5:05pm in the Alcazar Room, City Hall, located at 75 King Street.
Both the workshop and the hearings are open to the public.
The budget workshop provides commissioners the opportunity to review the proposed budget and make necessary adjustments after receiving reports from city staff. Usually set for a Thursday with a second session on Friday if needed, commissioner’s schedules necessitated the workshop to be held on a Tuesday and then continued to Friday if required.
The budget hearings provide the public with the opportunity to speak regarding the proposed budget. The budget will receive final approval at the second meeting held on September 18.
