A precautionary Boil Water Notice will be issued at 10:00 PM on Tuesday, July 14, for areas of Anastasia Island in St. Augustine according to an advance notice received by Historic City News yesterday afternoon.
The streets and subdivisions impacted in the area include, but are not limited to, portions of 16th Street, Anastasia by the Sea subdivision, Anastasia Oaks subdivision, Oceanwood Drive and Ocean Woods Drive West in the Ocean Woods subdivision and Seaside at Anastasia subdivision.
The St. Johns County Utility Department has reported that water main repairs will occur impacting an estimated 257 homes.
Under the Precautionary Boil Water Notice, all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes should be boiled. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. As an alternative bottled water may be used.
The Precautionary Boil Water Notice will remain in effect until bacteriological surveys show that the water is safe to drink and a retraction notice is posted, which is typically a minimum of two days.
Citizens may call (904) 209-2731 for updated information.
