City offers free and discounted parking options

With the busy fall event season upon us and holiday shopping right around the corner, the City of St. Augustine send a reminder to Historic City News about opportunities for free and discounted parking that are available downtown.

Parking from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. can be as low as 50 cents per hour in metered spaces with a ParkNow card available from the City of St. Augustine Financial Services Center located at 50 Bridge Street.

The card can be obtained for a one-time activation fee of $2.50 and charged with amounts as little as $20.00.

All on-street parking and parking in city managed lots, except the Historic Downtown Parking Facility, is free every day after 5:00 p.m. as well as all day on Sundays and national holidays.

To coincide with major events held at Francis Field on Castillo Drive, the Historic Downtown Parking Facility charges a flat $7.00 all day fee which allows drivers to leave the facility without stopping at the exit.

The facility’s usual rate is $1.25 per hour with a $7.50 per day maximum rate. To find out if the facility has the flat all day fee, call them at 904.825.1000.
