Library Advisory Board elects officers

Posted on 12/01/2009 By Historic City News

The St. Johns County Library Advisory Board reported to Historic City News that they have welcomed new members and elected officers at their regular meeting on November 18, 2009.

Carolee Bertisch, a former president of the Friends of the Library-Ponte Vedra Beach, was reappointed by the Board of County Commissioners to represent District 4, and Marilyn Wiles, founder and past president of The Enterprising Women’s Leadership Institute, was appointed to serve as an at-large representative.

At the same meeting, the Library Advisory Board elected officers for the 2009-2010 fiscal year.

Ponte Vedra Beach resident and District 4 representative Carolee Bertisch was reelected Chair; St. Augustine resident and District 1 representative Kathy Dvornick was elected Vice-Chair; and Elkton resident and District 2 representative William Napper was elected Secretary.

The Library Advisory Board meets the second Wednesday of each month at 9:30 a.m., with locations rotating throughout the County. The public is always welcome to attend the meetings.

Created by the Board of County Commissioners in 1977, the Library Advisory Board serves as an advisory body to the Board of County Commissioners, and is a contact point between citizens, the Library and the County Commission.
