Officer Michael Linsky responded to the 60th block of Saragossa Street Monday where Historic City News has learned that a burglar may have entered the residence while the owner and her roommate were at home.
Linsky was advised that the roommate left the house to go to work at around 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
The owner then went into her bathroom and thought she heard someone else in the house. She exited the bathroom but did not see anyone else inside at that time.
The homeowner left the house, and when she returned, she found that her and her roommate’s bedrooms where in disarray.
Nothing out of her bedroom was missing; however, the roommate is missing $40 in change and a gold ring valued at about $100.
Evidence was taken from the scene and Community Affairs Officer Barbara Clifford of the St. Augustine Police Department reports that the investigation is ongoing.
