The St. Augustine Amateur golf tournament raised $13,500 to benefit The First Tee of St. Johns County according to a report received by Historic City News.
The check was presented by the tournament committee at the awards ceremony on Sunday, October 18, 2009 following tournament play. The tournament was held October 16-18, 2009 at the St. Johns Golf Club and the winner was Blayne Barber of Lake City, Florida .

The mission of The First Tee of St. Johns County is to impact the lives of young people by providing an affordable and accessible facility where they can learn to play golf and learn the valuable life skills associated with the game.
The Chapter occupies a three-hole facility and clubhouse, and is open seven days a week for play. Through its junior membership, after-school, and special event programming, the St. Johns Chapter provides instruction and playing time for over 500 St. Johns County children, ages 6-17.
The St. Augustine Amateur, which began in 2004, selected in 2006 The First Tee of St. Johns County as its sole beneficiary. Since that time it has raised over $43,500 for The First Tee of St. Johns County.
