The 28th annual Matanzas 5000 & Fun Run on Saturday, January 24 will necessitate the closing of some streets and traffic disruptions according to information received by Historic City News this afternoon from Cathy DuPont in the City Office of Public Affairs.

Start: 9:00am Finish: 9:45am (approximately)
Race Route
Start at Francis Field on west Castillo Dr., east to S. Castillo Dr., south on S. Castillo Dr./ Avenida Menendez, west on St. Francis St., south on Marine St., west on South St., north on Cordova St., west on Bridge St., north on Granada St., west on King St., north on Sevilla St., west on Valencia St., north on Riberia St., east on W. Castillo Dr., south on S. Castillo Dr., west on Orange St., north on Cordova St. to end in the vicinity of Project SWING.
Street Closings
W. Castillo Dr. and Cordova St (between Orange St. and W. Castillo Dr.) will be closed from 8:00am – 10:30am, with limited or no access to and from the Historic Downtown Parking Facility.
Congested area
Traffic along the race route and on cross streets will be interrupted during the race.
Fun Run
Start: 10:00am Finish: 10:30am (approximately)
Run Route
Start on W. Castillo Dr., east to Cordova St., south to Orange St., west to Riberia St., north to W. Castillo Dr. to finish line.
Street Closings
W. Castillo Dr., Cordova St. (between Cordova and Orange), Orange St. (between Cordova and Riberia) and Riberia St. (between Orange and Castillo) will be closed or have limited and one-way access from 8:00am – 10:30am
Congested area
Traffic along the race route and on cross streets will be interrupted during the race.
