Karen Pan reported to Historic City News that Arenta Street and Mackey Lane will each close for one day as part of the ongoing West King Street construction project.
Arenta Street at West King Street will be closed to all vehicular traffic from 9:00 am on Monday, December 21, until noon on Tuesday, December 22. During the intersection closure, motorists may use Everett Street as an alternative route.
Additionally, Mackey Lane at West King Street will be closed to all vehicular traffic from 9:00 am Monday, December 28, until noon on Tuesday, December 29. During the intersection closure, motorists will need to use Pellicer Lane as an alternate route.
Eastbound traffic on West King Street will continue to use the Pellicer Lane detour. All area businesses remain open.
Both intersection closures are necessary to install concrete valley curb, part of a large infrastructure improvement joint project of St. Johns County, the City of St. Augustine and a grant from the Florida Department of Transportation. The entire project is scheduled to be completed in early 2010.
Questions may be directed to Project Manager Nick Perpich in the St. Johns County Engineering Division at (904) 209-0136.
