Public Information Coordinator Cathy DuPont alerted Historic City News that this Saturday’s St. Augustine Pirate Gathering parade will necessitate some minor interruptions of traffic along the city’s Bayfront, Cordova Street and the area around the Plaza.
The parade is scheduled to start at 11:00am and should conclude by noon.
The parade starts at Francis Field (corner of Riberia St. and W. Castillo Dr.) and continues east and south on Castillo Dr., south on Avenida Menendez, west on Cathedral Pl., north on Cordova St. back to Francis Field.
Following the parade at 12:30pm, there will be a staged pirate battle at the intersection of Orange St. and Cordova St. which will necessitate some traffic interruptions in that area. The battle should last for approximately one hour.
Traffic in these areas should expect slow downs, congestion or brief traffic halts. St. Augustine Police will manage the parade and surrounding temporary traffic patterns.
