St. Johns County Recreation and Parks asked Historic City News to invite the community to the first annual Veterans Day Sunset Celebration on Tuesday, November 10th.
The event, scheduled to be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Veterans Park in northwest St. Johns County, is “in honor of those who have served, are serving and will serve a grateful nation,” as inscribed in a monument at the base of the Veterans Park flagpole.
All ages will enjoy the festivities, which will include live music, food and beverages, war veteran storytelling, war memorabilia booths, vendor booths, a bounce house, balloon art and more. The Nease High School ROTC armed and unarmed drill team will also be performing.
Veterans Park is located at 1332 Veterans Parkway, east of Julington Creek Plantation and south of Racetrack Road. The 50-acre complex includes individual monuments and flags honoring each branch of the United States Armed Forces, as well as many recreation amenities.
