74 year-old Palm Coast woman arrested

Flagler County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 74-year-old Palm Coast woman on charges of fleeing and eluding a police officer, resisting arrest with violence and battery on a law enforcement officer Wednesday morning according to a news report received by Historic City News.

Deputies had set up a traffic enforcement detail on Farmsworth Drive when Elizabeth Millonig, of Faircastle Lane, sped through the 30-mile an hour zone going 40 miles per hour and ignoring signals to stop. A Sheriff’s motorcycle unit followed her and she stopped the vehicle several blocks west of the traffic detail. When the deputy informed her that she had been speeding, the woman began yelling. While the deputy was checking the vehicle tag number, the woman drove off and the motorcycle unit soon followed, stopping her on Old Kings Road South. The woman stopped, but while the deputy was getting off his motorcycle, she drove off again.

Using his public address system, the motorcycle deputy ordered the woman to pull over as she traveled south on the road. Millonig stopped a third time in a parking lot. This time the deputy approached the driver’s side and ordered her out of the vehicle. She started to scream at the deputy who then put his hand inside on her arm to prevent her from putting the vehicle in drive. At that time, she began striking the deputy’s arm with her fist. When he assisted her out of the car, she attempted to stab the deputy’s arm with her car keys.

Deputies reported the woman attempted to kick one of the deputies in the groin while she was being handcuffed. After being placed in the patrol car, she began kicking the door panels and the safety divider.

Millonig was released from the Flagler County Inmate Facility after posting $7,500 bond.
