Alcohol sales exception request by UF and City

This afternoon at 2:00 p.m., the City of St. Augustine Planning and Zoning Board will convene in the Alcazar Room at City Hall and will hear, among other issues, two requests for use by exception to allow alcohol sales and service at public and private events held at Government House and the Colonial Spanish Quarter Museum.

The City of St. Augustine and the University of Florida are joint applicants in the requests for use by exception.

The properties, owned by the State of Florida and administered by the Board of Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund, were recently leased directly to the University of Florida, Board of Trustees.

As of October 1, 2010, the City is a partner in the Colonial Spanish Quarter by way of a Memorandum of Agreement with the University.
