Local St. Johns County photographer Kenneth M. Barrett, Jr. is our featured artist this week.
Occupation? Photographer.
Artistic tool of choice?: Artist who advocates.
First artistic memory?: Taking composition class with Ms. Lorna Doone Brown at the St. Augustine Art Association in 1962.
Defining moment as an artist?: Having my work displayed with Todd Walker and Jerry Uslemann at a University of Florida art show in 1976.
Inspiration or perspiration?: Everyday is a gift. Life is inspiring.
Favorite art related possession at the moment?: Original Emmet Fritz’s paintings given to me by Emmet before his death.
Why St. Johns County?: Home is where the heart resides. I grew up here and have watched the arts scene evolve.
Ken’s photography can be seen all over St. Johns County. His work captures Florida in all of its beauty. Stop by the Wednesday or Saturday Farmers Markets in St. Augustine and see his work for yourself.
