Maureen Sullivan Christine of St. Augustine died yesterday at Community Hospice McGraw Center in Jacksonville.
She was a partner with her husband in the Christine and Christine Law Firm and the former Division Chief of the St. Johns County State Attorney’s Office. Between 1989 and 1992, she was Managing Senior Attorney for the Department of Children and Families.
Maureen received the Governor Lawton Chiles Commendation in 1996 and was active with the Sexual Abuse Intervention Network; serving as an instructor for the Interdisciplinary Rape Training Institute. During the years 2000 to 2008, she was a Governor Jeb Bush Appointee to the Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission and helped select judges throughout St. Johns, Putnam, Flagler and Volusia counties.
A graduate of Duke University and Stetson College of law, she concentrated in the areas of criminal law, civil trial practice, criminal appeals, civil appeals, family law, and professional license defense.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Cathedral-Basilica of St. Augustine. Visitation will be held 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday with prayer services at 6:30 p.m. at Craig Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in San Lorenzo Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Alex Christine; daughter, Sarah Katherine Christine; her mother, Sarah Sullivan, all of St. Augustine; sister, Patricia Sullivan, Cheverly, Md.
