Due to large amounts of soft sand this weekend, Historic City News local reporters were notified that driving on St. Johns County beaches will be limited to only those vehicles equipped with four-wheel drive.
The only exception is at the Vilano Beach ramp, which will have limited two-wheel drive access this weekend.
As an alternative, free parking is available at St. Johns County beachfront parks, including:
North Beaches
• Mickler’s Landing
• South Ponte Vedra Park
• North Beach
• Surfside Park
• Vilano Beach
South Beaches
• Pope Road
• 10th Street
• A Street
• Mary Street
• Butler East
• Crescent Beach
• Spyglass
Many of these parks also have restrooms and shower facilities. Parking is also available for free at the Fort Matanzas National Monument. Guana and Anastasia State Parks also have beach parking, but a nominal fee is charged.
A complete list of beach access points is available on the St. Johns County website at www.sjcfl.us/beaches
