Historic City News was notified that Robin Burchfield, president of the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce, quietly submitted her resignation two weeks ago — and today will be her last day.
Burchfield began her career with the Chamber in 1990 and took over as president in October 2004. Chamber Chairman Jill Atwood said Burchfield “would be missed by the board a great deal,” but declined to disclose the nature of the resignation.
Burchfield said in a statement that she planned to explore “new areas” and planned to spend time with her 95-year-old father.
Under her tenure, the St. Johns County Chamber achieved five-star accreditation from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which is designates to less than 1 percent of Chambers in the U.S.
