Historic City News watched during last week’s reorganization meeting of the St. Augustine City Commission when fellow commissioners selected Leanna Freeman to serve as Vice-Mayor for the next two years.
Freeman succeeds Commissioner Errol Jones. Both Jones and Freeman are beginning the third year of their four-year terms that expire in December, 2012.
Vice-Mayor Freeman holds a law degree and is an attorney in the firm of Freeman Law, LLC, in St. Augustine.
She is a resident of St. Augustine since childhood and is married with two children.
Freeman was a member of the City of St. Augustine’s Planning and Zoning Board for five years with one year serving as chairperson.
Freeman’s community service includes volunteer work for the St. Johns County Legal Aid, Ancient City Soccer, Inc., Kid’s Bridge Advisory Board and Good Samaritan Health Centers, Inc.
