On October 18th, the St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park will hold a special fundraising event to help citizens and wildlife in the Philippines after a devastating super typhoon hit the region according to a notice received by Historic City News today.
Super typhoon Megi left extensive damage to infrastructure, property, agriculture and business in the Philippines, and residents are struggling to rebuild. The Philippine islands play a vital role in the conservation of the Philippine crocodile, a critically endangered animal that now numbers only 200 left in the wild.
To raise awareness and donations, The Alligator Farm will host “Cupcakes and Crocodiles: Helping People Help Crocodiles” on Friday, December 10th from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
Cupcakes and refreshments will be available, as well as the opportunity to touch a Philippine crocodile and participate in guided night tours through the park to see the animals after hours and experience the vision of nighttime alligator eye-shines.
RSVP to Molly Ebersold, Sales & Marketing Manager, St. Augustine Alligator Farm, (904) 824-3337 ext. 10
