Michael Cunningham, St. Augustine Historical Society Director of Sales and Marketing, reported to local Historic City News reporters that on December 11th and 18th, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., local author Beth Rogero Bowen will appear at a signing for her latest book; A Bridge to a Dream.
The event will be held at the Oldest House Museum located at 14 St. Francis Street. Bowen was commissioned by the St. Augustine Historical Society to tell the story of the building of the Bridge of Lions and Davis Shores in the 1920’s.
Photos taken before and during construction show the amazing transformation of marshland into a platted subdivision as only photos can illustrate.
As a private, nonprofit agency, The St. Augustine Historical Society collects, preserves and interprets the history of St. Augustine through interpretive exhibits, events, site tours, product development and operations at the Oldest House Museum Complex, the Llambias House and the St. Augustine Research Library.
