The driver of a 1986 Chevy pickup truck was not wearing her seatbelt last night when her truck overturned — now Traffic Homicide investigators tell Historic City News that she may not survive the accident.
The single vehicle crash occurred last night about two miles east of CR-210 on CR-16A.
When emergency personnel arrived on the scene, they discovered the pickup truck overturned in the ditch.
Investigators told Historic City News that the victim’s failure to wear her seatbelt, allowed her to be ejected from the truck as it overturned. Tragically, the truck came to land on top of the victim; who sustained life threatening injuries.
The driver, whose name is being temporarily withheld, was air-lifted to Shands Hospital Jacksonville.
Investigators were on the scene of the accident and CR-16A was closed for about 2 1/2 hours.
