The Florida Chamber of Commerce notified Historic City News that their organization has endorsed five incumbent Republican House candidates representing this area.
“The Florida Chamber believes these endorsements are representative of candidates that understand the important role Florida’s businesses have in the health of the state’s economy, and understand the need to create a business climate that will help Florida transition our economy,” David Hart, Florida Chamber executive vice president, said in a news release.
The chamber endorses the following:
• Florida House District 20 – William “Bill” Proctor, R, St. Augustine The chancellor of Flagler College represents Clay, Flagler and St. Johns counties.
• Florida Senate District 8 – John Thrasher, R, Jacksonville. Thrasher. The former speaker of the house represents Duval, Flagler, Nassau, St. Johns and Volusia counties.
• Florida House District 18 – Ronald “Doc” Renaurt, R, Jacksonville. The Jacksonville Beach osteopathic physician represents Duval and St. Johns counties.
• Florida House District 15 – Reggie Fullwood, D, Jacksonville. The president of Jacksonville-based Rhino Harbor Development, LLC represents Duval County.
• Florida House District 16 – Charles W. McBurney, Jr., R, Jacksonville. The Jacksonville attorney represents Duval County.
• Florida House District 17 – Lake G. Ray III, R, Jacksonville The Jacksonville engineer represents Duval County.
