Emergency Services & Homeless Coalition Project Coordinator Jean Harden is reaching out to Historic City News readers asking for donations to help the residents of Hogans Harvest as they begin their rehabilitation program.
Hogans Harvest will complete construction of a 4-bedroom/2 bath house in West Augustine designated to house homeless ex-offenders coming out of prison. The facility is scheduled to open in June.
Dr. Cheryl Hogan asks that your donations be dropped off at the Homeless Coalition office located at 523 West King Street in St. Augustine and that they be marked as designated for Hogans Harvest.
The following “wish list” identifies some of the household items that are needed.
Cleaning supplies
Comet
Pine-sol
bleach, Windex, etc
laundry detergent
bath soap
mops, brooms, mop bucket
dish washing detergent (both for electric dishwashing and hand washing dishes)
toilet paper
paper towels, kitchen sponges – scrubbers, paper luncheon napkins
Saran wrap, aluminum foil.
Personal Care items
shaving cream/shaving lotion, BIC razors
tooth brushes/toothpaste
combs/hair brushes
socks (work socks and dress socks)
lotions – shampoo
hand mirrors
band aids/first aid kits
deodorant
Linens (may be new or slightly used)
laundry baskets
twin bed mattress pads/twin bed sheets, blankets, bedspreads, bed pillows/pillow cases
bath mats, bath towels, wash cloths
kitchen towels and cloths
place mats, kitchen mats, entrance rugs – wipe off mats
Small kitchen appliances and dishes:
electric can opener
hand held can opener
coffee pot
canisters, other culinary items
blender, mixer
dishes, silverware, glasses
cookware – pots and pans
