St. Johns River Community College informed local Historic City News reporters that they are offering information sessions for those interested in the new Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education.
The sessions will focus on questions regarding the program details and requirements.
Applications will be available September 1. Classes begin in January 2011.
The following sessions have been scheduled:
St. Augustine Campus – August 25 at 5:30 p.m. (Room C116)
Palatka Campus – August 23 at 5:30 p.m. (Valhalla Hall, Administration Building)
Orange Park Campus – August 30 at 5:30 p.m. (Community Room, V120)
The Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education will prepare students for teaching careers.
Graduates will be eligible to apply for a Florida Professional Teaching Certificate in PreKindergarten/Primary Education (age 3 – grade 3).
Students will also earn endorsements in reading and English to speakers of other languages (ESOL).
