Dear Editor:
With only days before the Election I am doing everything I can to communicate with voters about the grave dangers associated with Amendments 5 & 6.
Why are special interest groups outside of Florida spending millions to change our redistricting laws? By eliminating your right to have your voice heard, these groups would also open the door to allowing personal injury lawyers, big labor unions, and special interest insiders to reshape Florida’s political boundaries by default.
Supporters of Amendments 5 and 6 are not “non-partisan” as they claim. They are active supporters of far-left causes working to advance the Obama-Pelosi-Reid agenda.
Supporters of Amendments 5 and 6 are not from Florida and do not know what’s best for Florida. After failing to pass similar amendments in California and Ohio, the same special interest insiders are taking aim at Florida’s election law.
Allowing the courts to redraw political boundaries is risky and has never been tried before. Jeopardizing representation from Florida’s diverse communities is not a risk voters are willing to take.
The political stakes couldn’t be higher. We are fighting the efforts of ACORN, the ACLU, trial attorneys, and big labor unions.
Concerned Floridians, respected business leaders, elected officials, civic and community leaders and organizations from all political backgrounds want to protect your vote. We are fighting to protect our vote and the right to elect individuals who represent our communities.
